Encouragement

According to Merriam-Webster’s thesaurus, encouragement is defined as something that arouses action or activity.
During the course of our life we may feel the need to seek the approval of others in order to feel a sense of encouragement. But, what do you do when there is no one around and you are left staring at the mirror and seeing only yourself staring back? Approval addiction can become a hindrance in our lives and will create a stronghold. Seeking the approval of others will have you doing things that are against what we know is right, just so we can feel accepted by others.
Today I want you to look at the word En-cour-age-ment in a different way, we are going to take this same word and pull out the golden nugget that is already imbedded deep inside of us. In me there is courage, I have the courage to get up and face another day no matter what the unknown may be, regardless of who is standing by my side; God did not give me the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind. We will put this word in action and actively affirm
“IN ME THERE IS COURAGE”.

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you He will not fail you or forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

"But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work." (2 Chronicles 15:7)

Behind Enemy Lines

“The Art of War”, is a book that was written by, Sun Tzu back in the 6th Century this book is based on military strategy for warfare. One, of the most intriguing points of this book is to approach warfare as a matter of life or death, the author states, “that one or two things will happen when you are at war either you will have victory or defeat.” Sun Tzu also states, "we have to live by a moral law which is to be in complete accord of our ruler." Regardless of the warfare that we encounter on a daily basis we can not be dismayed by what we see, we have to follow our ruler even unto death. One of the greatest triumphs about being a Christian is that victory is promised by the Lord. No matter what you are faced with today there is a solution. So, if you find yourself in warfare spiritually, physically, mentally or financially and it feels that you are in the trenches with the enemy, know that your kinsman redeemer is fighting your battle and you will win!

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (The Message)

The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.

Get Back Up!

We fall down but we get up, for a saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up. These are the words from Donnie McClurkins song, "We Fall Down."

As christians in a systemic society, we have to overcome our emotions that cause us to stumble and change our perception on how we view:

Failure
Rejection
Guilt
Shame

The bible tells us, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."(Romans 12:2)

When we start to renew our mind with the word of God this is when the enemies plot becomes exposed; the bible tells us that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy; but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

We have to ask ourselves why is it important to seek the approval of others?

In the book of Genesis when God created man he said it was Very good, so if when we were created God said we were Very good it was before man uttered a word, performed a deed or committed an act.

Look at your situation and circumstance and come back to God; every negative word that you have thought or that was spoken over you replace it with the word of God and become transformed. All your sins past, present and future have been forgiven.

And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.
(Col. 2:13-14)

Beloved, no matter what you have done repent to the heavenly father and come back into his loving arms he is waiting for you.

What is ministry? "Mini Me"

The word ministry has a root word mini, according to Merriam Webster mini is defined as, something small of its kind; ministry is defined as, a person or thing through which something is accomplished.

So, that would lead us to believe that ministry is becoming small so something can be accomplished through you!

We do not lead a ministry or enter into a ministry so that we can be seen; we are to love our neighbors, love our brothers our sisters and not take advantage of what GOD is doing through you.

We have already learned that ministry means to be small so GOD can do something through you. Why are we trying to be seen like 1,2,3 lights, camera, action wooooh now its my time to shine; since I cant shine any place else I might as well shine here!!

Jesus didn’t walk around proclaiming I am the LORD the Son of GOD….he asked his disciples but whom say ye that I am, And Simon Peter said, Thou art the Christ, the son of the living GOD. And Jesus answered and said unto him blessed art thou Simon Barjona for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my father which is in heaven. Come back to meekness, humbleness, begin to become comfortable within your own self.

Once the cameras are shut off and the lights have been dimmed down when you are alone with you do you like what you have become?

GOD is calling us to come back!!

We have to come back to the place where it was just GOD and you no circus just a true devoted servant!!

II Corinthians 6:3-10

3 giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,

4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,

6 in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,

7 in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,

8 by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true;

9 as unknown yet well-known, as dying yet behold, we live; as punished yet not put to death,

10 as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things.

Who do you put your trust in?

As individuals in today’s society we are putting so much trust in the latest fads from losing weight, get rich quick schemes and even ways to find our mates 101 places to find him/her.

How many of us truly trust God?

How many of us embrace the challenges, trials and tribulations that God has set before us?

Can we trust God when we can not trace him?

For today let’s trust in God with all our heart and mind, we must believe that he has already established our path.

We have to die to our flesh and allow God to put us through the process of being refined. So, that after we have been tried and tested we will come out as pure Gold.

Proverbs 3:5-7

5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.

Moving Past Mere Religion to a Vibrant Relationship with Christ!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

This is without question a very significant and equally arresting scripture that many Christians have become very familiar with. People of God across the world have heard this particular passage time and time again. We know it and love it, we teach it and preach it, and we have placed it in our arsenal of readily accessible biblical ammunition. We have exegetically extracted many doctrinal basics that have enriched the body of Christ throughout the span of time. But for many, the issue has been translating that initial belief into a practicing relationship with our father.
It has been increasingly evident that in this age we live in, Christians have become satisfied with a “noninvasive” religious experience. There is an overwhelming contentment with a religion that doesn’t require much of a change in living. As long as you acknowledge there is a God, attend church, occasionally get emotional in the church service, while living a morally good life (for the most part), then everything is fine. It’s sort of a convenient way of telling God, you have a place in my life definitely, just not the head or top spot. A convenient religion that is convenient to institute at the appropriate times.
The problem here is that God is not a pair of shoes that you put on and take off whenever you feel the urge. He’s not a light switch that you turn on and off whenever you want light (or personal revelation). Once you take that first step which is believing, it doesn’t end there. That is the mere beginning of a life long journey to grow deeper, move closer, and experience more of Jesus Christ! There is a requirement from every person who is a part of the collective body of Christ. That requirement is to pursue the things of God with a tenacious and relentless appetite.
We must be mindful to cultivate our relationship with Christ. You can observe people who seem to be stuck in the routine of “churchy-ness”. We must be watchful of giving way to the trivialization of God, or attempting to confine God to our own selfish desires. Jan McMurray writes in her book, Return to Worship, “Most people know God today for what He does for them rather than for who He is. If we are going to be genuine people of God, we must become so by understanding His ways and by loving Him for who He is, not just for what He does for us.”
The only way to move to know God in this capacity is to move out of mere religion. To grow past mere religion is to change the way we think. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Roman 12:2). The issue for so many people is they have become psychologically stuck in religious activity rather than thriving in kingdom minded actions. Going to church is not enough. Memorizing a few scripture’s is not enough. There must be a mind renewal that places you in the pathway for encountering Jesus Christ.
Moving from religion to relationship is the necessary step in the process of becoming what God would have us to be. Yes you took the mental step in faith, but God never said stop walking! It’s not always a popular walk, and quite honestly it can sometimes be a difficult road, but rest assured your never alone. God will not only be with you on the journey, but he will bless you while you’re walking!

Kingdom Fellowship's "Fellowship Choir" first concert

Watch Kingdom Fellowship CLC's "Fellowship Choir" worship LIVE in concert at Cane Run Baptist Church Friday March 21 in their first concert as a choir.

Living in Expectation!

One of the most damaging positions one can find themselves in mentally, is a place where you allow the negatives of your past to dictate your course of action concerning your future. You’re in a dangerous place spiritually when you allow the past mistakes of your life to deter you from claiming all that God has for you. It is a critical position to be in when a person finds him or herself allowing their past to lower their expectation!

This mindset is especially precarious because God has placed a divine purpose within all of us, but your faith that it will happen, regardless of your past failures, is a key element to that process. What you have been thru, and what you are going thru, does not have to dictate your future.

What has happened is we have allowed many of those negatives to shape our outlook on present and consequently future places with God. You won’t look to the future with a positive perspective because you keep looking back at what happened in the past. You must understand that the only way to defeat the negatives of your past that now have come into your present is for God to give you vision.

I have to have vision of my future in spite of the negatives of my past! It is essential to understand this because often times we do not project our future because of our constant view of our past. And many times we are brought to remember the things of our past as a reason why our future will be negative. But I have found out that God will overcome my situation with revelation.

God has to show me being delivered while I’m still in the middle of a hell-ish situation. I have to see myself weathering the storm while the storm yet rages in my life. These very revelations that God plants into my psyche while I’m going thru, help me to see my already expected outcome. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Sometimes God has to point out to us that he is the one who orchestrates and moves within the situation, so that our everyday will be a day of expectation. This is the reason why when I come into the worship service, I come expecting to hear a word from heaven. I don’t attend church just to sit with my arms folded like I’m looking to be stimulated before I “decide” to give God his praise.

I can’t just come in and sit like I’m half dead, I need God too much, and I’m expecting God to deliver something to me that he has already previously promised. I’m expecting God to show up right in the middle of my situation. I don’t have time nor can I afford to be distracted by anything or anybody. I’m in such a state of expectation, I’m so focused on the presence of God, I cannot allow you to get my attention off of God because I’m catching to much hell to come to church only to play church.

I can’t be involved in a bunch of mess when I come into his house. I can’t be preoccupied with a bunch of nonsense, because my expectation has me so focused on what God is getting ready to do in the house; I’m literally sitting on the edge of my seat anticipating the next move of God.

This is the mindset of the man or woman who is expecting and living in a state of expectation!

Worship: An Encounter with Almighty God

People tend to get caught up in where they should worship, what music they should sing in worship, and how the worship looks to other people. Focusing on these things completely misses the point. Worship is a heartfelt encounter of men and angels with the true God. This means we worship from the heart and the way God calls us to. It is an act of attention to the living God who rules, speaks and reveals, creates and redeems, orders and blesses. “The essence of worship is genuineness.” Worship may find expression in thought, in prayer, in praise, in song, in body position, and in activity such as dancing or uplifting of arms- but without genuineness all becomes false worship. Jesus instructed the woman at the well in this matter, saying: ‘But the hour cometh, and now is, when true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” (John 4:23).

A. Worship itself does not invoke the presence of God---rather, worship is a response to the presence of God.

B. People who do not have a worshipping lifestyle are swept into a vast restlessness, epidemic in the world, with no steady direction and no sustaining purpose.

C. Being in church every Sunday doesn’t make you a worshiper any more than attending the opera makes you an opera singer. Worship takes time, discipline, and sacrifice.

D. God is not a denominational God! He is not Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, or Methodist. Worship points directly to the heart of God. John 4:24 makes no distinction as to denomination, nationality, ethnicity, or culture. It merely states that “God is a Spirit; and they that worship him in spirit and in truth.”

E. True Worship cannot happen without the horizontal relationships with our brothers and sisters being cleared up. (Matthew 5:23-24) (Matthew 6:14) We are to forgive others because we ourselves were forgiven. God requires that we genuinely forgive those who have offended us before we can worship him with a clear conscience and a true spirit of praise.

Worship No Matter What the Situation Says

The Bible is full of unquenchable worshippers- people who refused to be dampened, discouraged or distracted in their quest to glorify God. I love the heart attitude of the prophet Habakkuk, who decided he would chose to respond to God’s worth, no matter how bleak a season he found himself in:

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior (Habakkuk 3:17,19)

Even at our lowest points, there should be an underlying trust and, therefore, worship. It is worship that can overcome any obstacle and rise from the heart of the troubled believer to the very heart of God. You must have the ability to press into the very presence of God even in the midst of adversity. Honestly when your level of worship begins to rise, the more resistance you will experience.

The closer you draw to God in your worship, the more you will see and discern the attack from the enemy. You will start to see a new resistance in areas that you didn’t see before. The more you increase your worship, the closer you get to God, the more you will see that some people you thought were friends and had your best interest at heart were working against you. The more you worship the more your spiritual eyes will be opened, and you will begin to see things you never saw before.

You will find that the true worshippers don’t have a lot time to get caught up in clicks and groups. You will discover that as a true worshipper you are so thirsty and hungry for the presence of God, you can’t be involved in a bunch of foolishness.

On Listening...

On Listening...

When I ask you to listen to me and you start by giving me advice, you have not done what I have asked.

When I ask you to listen to me and you begin by telling me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling on my feelings.

When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to solve my problems, you have failed me, strange as it may seem.

Listen!

All I ask is that you listen, not talk or do ….. just hear me. When you do something for me that I can do for myself, you contribute to my fear and inadequacy. And I can do for myself. I’m not helpless. Maybe discouraged and faltering, but not helpless. But, when you accept as simple fact that I do feel what I feel, no matter how irrational, then I can quit trying to convince you and get about the business of understanding what’s behind this irrational feeling. And when that’s clear the answers are obvious – and I don’t need advise. Irrational feelings make sense when we understand what is behind them.

Perhaps that’s why prayer works, sometimes, for some people ….. because God is mute, and doesn’t give advise or try to fix things.

God just listens and lets you work it out for yourself. So, please listen and just hear me. And if you want to talk wait a minute for your turn and I will gladly listen to you.

In your relationship learning to really listen to your partner, takes courage for when you listen you run the risk of having your world view, your perspective changed. Theses kinds of changes could help you to
